Camping in the North Cascades

There are many places to camp in the North Cascades. With so many camping experiences, the North Cascades offers an endless amount of potential adventures for people of all ages and skill level.

Most public campgrounds are filled on a first come, first served basis. Free campgrounds are "primitive" and require users to pack in their own water, and pack out any and all garbage.

North Cascades National Park Backcountry Camps - This page provided by the National Park Service lists a number of "backcountry" campsites, and includes rules on "cross-country" camping, which states that camps must be set at least 1/2 mile from any trail and 1 mile from designated camps.

North Cascades Boat-In Camping - This page provided by the National Park Service lists campsites available to boaters.

North Cascades Car Camping - This page provided by the National Park Service lists campsites that are accessible by car or truck. These are often popular campgrounds that include RV hook-up sites, public water, and public restroom.
