Heather Lake Trail   Mountain Loop Highway

To find Heather Lake Trail travel 12 miles up the Mountain Loop Highway and take a right at Pilchuck Road. Travel another 1.5 miles before reaching the parking area and trailhead. This is a 3.8 mile moderate hike. This trail weaves up the mountain at a steady incline and levels off enough to catch your breath. Very well maintained, there are lots of old timber found along the way. This hike takes about 3 hours and the destination is thought of as a whimsical, mystic lake lined with the beautiful backside of the Pilchuck Mountain. With the setting of the fog on the rockery it makes an even more magical setting. This beautiful surrounding is well worth the strenuous hike.
